UWM Anxiety Disorders Lab (ADL) is a clinical research laboratory established for the study of anxiety disorders. ADL aims to conduct scientific research focused on (a) examining anomalous cognitive-perceptual processes that are suspected to contribute to the maintenance of these quite common and debilitating problems (e.g., information processing biases), (b) developing or enhancing cognitive/behavioral interventions incorporating findings from basic research on cognitive processes, and (c) examining various cognitive/behavioral factors related to the process of fear reduction. ADL's research examines a wide range of anxiety problems, including social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive and its spectrum disorders, health anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, etc.
