EdSA Scholarships and Bursaries


EdSA Fund Scholarship

The EdSA fund recognizes students that significantly contribute their time to further education, outside of the program requirements. Two awards of $500 will be awarded.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled in the Faculty of Education (Elementary, PDPP, Music, Art, Physical Education)
**EdSA executive members are eligible for awards; 
award recipients are decided by third party, in which education students are not a part of
- High academic achievements
- Demonstrate voluntary contributions made to campus, community, and/or athletic groups or organizations
- Demonstrate experiences of further education (outside of classroom experiences) i.e. workshops, conferences, etc.

PLEASE INCLUDE:
- Application form (see below)
- Copy of unofficial transcripts
- List of involvement with campus/community activities and/or organizations (please specify volunteer from paid work) and further education experiences
- Letter of professional, character reference (maximum 2)

 EdSA Practicum Fund


The EdSA Practicum fund recognizes students who travel a considerable distance for practicums outside of their local district, as well as students who implement a field experience or other related educational event for the schools in which they are teaching. 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

            - Enrolled in the Faculty of Education (Elementary, PDPP, Music, Art, Physical Education) 
               **EdSA executive members are eligible for awards; award recipients are decided by third party, in which education students are not a part of.
            - Will be travelling a considerable distance to complete a practicum placement or will be completing a practicum (traditional or alternative) in a setting that requires extra financial support to enrich the educational experience of their students 

            - High academic achievement  


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Application form (see below)
- Typewritten personal statement not exceeding 500 words that includes:
- a description of your expected practicum activity, what you expect to learn from this placement, and how this donation will help you meet your goals with respect to this activity;
- a description of how your involvement with this community will enhance your teaching pedagogy and personal/academic endeavors;
- a description of what inspired you to choose this practicum.
- Copy of unofficial transcripts
- Proof of practicum placement (for travel considerations) or
- Informal reference from mentor teacher (for additional funding during practicum)

FOLLOW UP
- Students must demonstrate the success of their endeavors in a format which may be shared with their peers before funding will be allocated
