CanAssist is a university-based organization dedicated to developing and delivering technologies, programs and services that improve the quality of life of those with special needs. $1000 to BC Youth Parliament's Camp Phoenix . The primary aim of Camp Phoenix is to provide children who would otherwise be unable to attend a summer camp due to social or financial circumstances the opportunity to do so. (click here to see their website)
$200 to the Woman's Transition House Society with the stipulation that it be used to help run their camps for children that have witnessed abuse. Victoria Women’s Transition House Society, working collaboratively, provides shelter, support, counselling and education to women of all ages, with or without children, so that they can live free from the effects of abuse in intimate relationships.
