For a good essay on the history of the Viscount Bicycle, see this page on Sheldon Brown. My father had one of these "back in the day," which he gave to me.  He even managed to hold onto the original "death fork," even though the Yamaha recall requested that the original forks be destroyed.

Find here an OCD collection of images of the Viscount.  It's covered in dust, and I haven't gotten around to replacing it's tubular tires, but the bike is otherwise in great shape.  The photos are barely organized, but verbose...
