Colours Awards

posted 30 May 2010, 14:17 by Coleraine Fencing   [ updated 31 May 2010, 01:51 ]

The 2010 University of Ulster Sports Union Colours Awards took place last night, acknowledging the achievements and commitment of club members across all clubs in the three main campuses.

A black tie event held at the Hilton hotel in Belfast, this auspicious gathering would pay special recognition to two of our very own club members:

Raisa Greer, unfortunately unable to attend, was awarded the Half Colours Award - For students achieving a high standard of performance in sport and demonstrating commitment to student sport

and

Colin Creighton who was awarded the Service Award - Awarded to a non-student who has been consistently involved in the running of a Club for a period of not less than three years and who has shown initiative and commitment.

After several free glasses of champagne, some food, and the obligatory speeches, the awards were handed out and accepted with the expected levels of gracious modesty and decorum. Much drinking and dancing ensued, interspersed with a cheeky rick roll, completing the recipe for a successful night out!
Epee win.
