CHIMERA: CCSN 1D/2D/3D - and ECSN

In conjunction with the development of three-dimensional simulations we are 1) working on accelerating the nuclear network solutions in two significant ways; 1) by spreading the network calculations to multiple cores using a shared-memory spreading the network calculations to multiple cores using a shared memory parallel programming interface called OpenMP and 2) taking advantage of quasi parallel programming interface called OpenMP, and 2) taking advantage of quasi-statistical equilibrium conditions during silicon burning to reduce the size of the system of equations In combination these approaches will allow self consistent system of equations. In combination, these approaches will allow self-consistent nuclear abundance simulations beyond any to date.

Trunk: This is the primary production of the code.

Branch: The current branch is an OpenMP implementation

OpenMP:

We have wrapped Chimera's nuclear network with an OpenMP routine. We are currently testing runs to enhance the efficiency of our simulations.
