Summer/Band Camp Info

Mini Camp will be held at Utica High School 7/23 - 7/26

Monday, July 23: 9 am to 3 pm ALL New marchers, section leaders and drum majors. Lunch provided.

ALL other marching band members please arrive after lunch at 12:45 pm until 3 pm

Tuesday & Wednesday: 9 am to 3 pm: ALL MARCHERS. Lunch provided

Thursday: HALF DAY 9 am to noon: ALL Marchers. No lunch

Trailer loaded at noon on Thursday

ON THE FIELD:

CLOSED TOE shoes only!

Water bottles: Critical to stay hydrated

Use Sunscreen & bug spray

Hats/sunglasses helpful

Marching Band Field Markers: stuffed animals, disc golf frisbee, ball, etc.

Utica High School Marching Band (UHSMB) will be having band camp at Central Michigan for July 29 - August 3, 2018.

BAND CAMP SPIRIT DAYS:

  • Sunday: Utica Colors Orange/Black/White
  • Monday: Tacky Tourist (Hawaiin/dad gear)
  • Tuesday: Colllege/Sports Team
  • Wednesday: Section Pride
  • Thursday: Superhero
  • Friday: Summer Uniforms (Orange polo/Black shorts)

SAVE THE DATE: Upon return from CMU on Friday, August 3 the band will share a preview show at Swinehart Field. Show time is is contingent upon band's arrival back in Utica with time to unload equipment~ anticipating a 3:30/4 pm time frame start. Amazing to see how much the band has learned in such a short time together. The show is in its preliminary stage at this point and it is exciting to then watch as the show develops through the season. Good times.

In preparation for summer band please be active this spring and summer. Getting lots of conditioning exercise will help make your band experience much more pleasant.
