Become a HOSA Member

There are no written applications or forms that you need to fill out. In order to become a member, you must pay the necessary dues and fulfill the requirements. Depending on how involved you would like to be, the dues and requirements change.

          Dues must be turned in by the 2nd General Meeting

Membership requirements must be met by the end of the each semester (valid exceptions can be brought up and discussed on a per member basis)

Membership Status
Associate Member
Description
Associate members will receive a certificate stating active membership at the end of the school year. Associate status is for members that are interested in HOSA, but have no interest in competing. HOSA provides a wide variety of volunteer opportunities as well as resources that will help you start your journey into a prehealth profession.

National Member
Description
National members will also receive a certificate stating active membership at the end of the school year. In addition to the certificate, you will receive a cord to wear during your graduation ceremony. To qualify for a cord, you must be a National member (at the time of graduation) with at least 2 consecutive years of National membership status.

National status is for members that are willing to commit to HOSA and have a strong interest in competing in the future. While the requirements are the same as Associate status, National membership shows that you are going to invest more time in the years to come, but you do not have the time to do so at the moment.

Competitor
Description
Competitors receive all of amenities that Associate and National member earn, but in addition to that you will be competing at State Competitions. In order to compete, HOSA requires the most out of you. UTDallas is known for having amazing results when it comes to State Competitions and we want to continue that success. To distinguish a Competitor from the vast pool of members, we ask that you invest more time and effort which will show your dedication and passion to compete on behalf of UTDallas.

Competitor status is for members that have the time and dedication to be apart of HOSA now. Prior HOSA experience is recommended, but not required. Competitors go above and beyond the basic requirements and have a strong interest in competing.

* 1 Volunteering Event may come from an outside organization. Please fill out the Outside Hours Form and submit it to HOSA
