Welcome to the Mobile CSP presentation at the 2016 University of Texas Mini-CSP Conference. This workshop is for Texas high school teachers who are interested in learning more about the approach to the College Board's new CS Principles course.
In addition to providing an overview of the online Mobile CSP course and our online professional development course, the workshop will give you a brief hands-on experience with App Inventor, the programming language we use in the course. A few Android devices will be provided but participants are welcome to use their own Android phone or tablet. You will need to bring your own laptop (Mac, Windows, or Chromebook). See set up for more information.
Mobile CSP is one of several CS Principles "flavors" that you'll be learning about at this conference. We've been providing professional development to high school teachers since 2013, initially in Connecticut, but, since 2014, we also offer provide PD through our online course. The map below shows some of the schools that are using our curriculum.
See you at the workshop!
