Finally!! Is spring really here? Yep it looks like it, we were not going to be fooled this time at one of our spring trials with unpredictable weather. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we were all excited to say that spring in Utah is finally here! We had some perfect weather for our April Fool's Day trial. It was a bit breezy at times but the temperatures were just right for running bird dogs.
Our Spring trial season is in full swing and going great which means we have some incredible people as always behind the scenes making sure everything is running smoothly. This trial was no exception as it was chaired by Joel Cartwright and Ernie Wakabayashi, thanks guys for all of your time, sacrifice, and hours of preparation leading up to an awesome trial. Thanks to all those that helped out and Judged, Marshalled, Bird Planted, Mentored, and ran their dogs. Also a huge thanks go out to Bobby Brown and Kayla Howell who were able to bring the birds over from Colorado, that was a huge win, so thank you!
Thanks to all these wonderful trial workers, they are as follows:
Marshall's -
Lynn Jeffers & Angie Wonnacott
Judges -

TRIAL HIGHLIGHTS
On Saturday Mitch Johnson was able to handle Ryan Taylor's dog PRINCE to his 2X championship. Congrats Ryan & Mitch, such a huge accomplishment!
On Saturday Joel was able to handle KNOX to his 2X championship. They have been absolutely on fire this season and making huge waves in our region. Congrats Joel way to go!
Rich Lowe Handled his setter ZOEY to her first NSTRA win in B Field on Sunday. Rich is no stranger to the podium, but so exciting to see ZOEY atop for her first win, congrats!
Glade Olson was able to handle MARLO to Glade's first open placement as the handler. Glade's wife Shaylee has handled him to an open placement in the past but this was a first for Glade. They have been fortunate enough to have a few Amateur placements so far, but this was their first open placement with Glade as the handler. Way to go Glade and MARLO!
Wyatt Workman handled DOT to her first Open placement. They are quite the team and it is a joy for all of us to see this young man showing us how it is done. Way to go Wyatt!!
It is not too often we get to see a Father/Son Duo on the podium. So fun to see Wyatt Workman and DOT along with Mike Workman and PEPPER on the podium together. They were able to both place in the AMATEUR in A Field on Saturday. Congrats to both of you!
Thanks again to all those that helped in anyway make this trial possible. It was a huge success with lots of awesome dog work and great times spent with our Utah NSTRA family.
Up next is our biggest trial of the year with the "BEST OF THE WEST" on April 25th, 26th, & 27th, get those dogs tuned up as we will be competing with some of the best dogs in the west.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
