USS Liberty Model
K. J. Halliwell (Revised July 24, 2012)

A 3D digital model of USS Liberty is being constructed via Sketchup 3D modeling software. (Note: work on the model is part-time, during Winter months; so, do not expect frequent or regular updates to this page.  Little work on the model has occurred since Spring of 2010.  This is due mostly to the lack of dimensional data and detailed photographs/drawings of complex deck equipment, like the anchor winlass.)

The model is being drawn with a fairly high degree of accuracy -- based on the ship's plans and photographs.  Thus, studies involving measurements on the ship should accurately represent reality.

The images below show the model as it existed in Spring 2010.

As you can see, even though the model is not yet complete, it appears very much like the real ship and contains a fairly high amount of detail.

Of further interest, below is an image showing basic (i.e., not detailed) models of the three large boats carried by USS Liberty.  The full-hull versions of these models are part of the USS Liberty model.
