Unable to Open .pdf Files On Browser(Internet Explorer):

Problem: The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running cannot be used to view PDF files in  web browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit & try again."

Solution 1: Follow these steps in order for all Adobe .pdf files to open in Adobe 9 Acrobat/Reader whenever you click on a .pdf link in your browser:

  1. Click on “Edit” on the toolbar.
  2. Select “Preferences” at the bottom of the Edit list.
  3. Select “Internet” in the list of features on the left-side of the Preferences window.
  4. Uncheck “Display PDF in browser.” 

Solution 2: If you have your Internet Explorer open, try this to see if this will help your situation:

  1. Click on “Tools” , select "Internet Options"
  2. Click on the “Advanced” tab in the Internet Options window.
  3. Under the Security section, uncheck the “Do not save encrypted pages to disk”
  4. Click on the “OK” button to save the changes
