Problem: The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running cannot be used to view PDF files in web browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit & try again."
Solution 1: Follow these steps in order for all Adobe .pdf files to open in Adobe 9 Acrobat/Reader whenever you click on a .pdf link in your browser:
Click on “Edit” on the toolbar.
Select “Preferences” at the bottom of the Edit list.
Select “Internet” in the list of features on the left-side of the Preferences window.
Uncheck “Display PDF in browser.”
Solution 2: If you have your Internet Explorer open, try this to see if this will help your situation:
- Click on “Tools” , select "Internet Options"
- Click on the “Advanced” tab in the Internet Options window.
- Under the Security section, uncheck the “Do not save encrypted pages to disk”
- Click on the “OK” button to save the changes
