Flotilla 25-1 is pleased to announce that it will be offering free vessel safety checks (VSCs) again starting this weekend and continuing all boating season long, near the boat ramp in Gravelly Point Park in Arlington, VA.  VSCs are brief checks conducted by a knowledgeable member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary who will take you through all the safety equipment you need to have on board.  Boats, kayaks, canoes, sailboats, and rowboats that have all of the safety equipment needed will receive a VSC decal that shows you passed the VSC, and it is good for a year.

Get your free VSC at Gravelly Point from 10 am to 4 pm on April 26, May 3, May 17, May 24, June 7, and June 21.  As you kick off the season, look for our white tent near the ramp.  You can also stop by to get the latest information on safety equipment, navigation rules, and other pointers on safe boating.

A vessel safety check is brief.  There's no penalty if you don’t pass.  But the lessons learned and the information gained will ensure a safe season on the water!  Click here for more information on vessel safety checks.
