2013 Urban Boot Camp for Educators

The Brain Rules: Teaching with the Brain in Mind

Urban Boot Camp for Educators is an intense summer camp developed to prepare teachers in the principles of culturally sensitive pedagogy for the challenges facing urban educators. Participants will experience rigorous workshops and sessions designed to transition to the new paradigms required for Common Core integration, 21st century planning for teaching and learning opportunities and strategies for increasing student engagement and academic success.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Rachelle Rogers-Ard of Teach Tomorrow in Oakland, will address exploring biases in the diverse classroom.  Oakland Unified School District Teachers and CalStateTEACH Faculty will also be presenting sessions.
