International workshop on Uncertainty Quantification in
 Computational Fluid Dynamics

MAY 18-20, 2015 à PARIS en FRANCE

Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) is nowadays mandatory for validated predictive simulations in a wide range of scientific and engineering applications.

This research field lies at the intersection between mathematics, statistics, algorithmic and large-scale computing developments.

While there exists applications of UQ in many fields, the focal application for this workshop will be on all fields of application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

The workshop provides a platform for presenting methodologies and studies aimed at characterizing and quantifying the variability and uncertainty of the quantities required and predicted by flow simulations. Sources of uncertainties may be many, such as: unknown variability of physical/constitutive parameters, geometry, initial/boundary/operating conditions, turbulence models, numerics, external forcing, ...

The goal of the meeting is to provide a framework for the sharing of ideas and also to enhance the communication among the specialists from the academic and industrial research areas.

Presentations of scientific results obtained on benchmark problems identified during the previous workshops held in Lyon 2013, Pisa 2014, and studied within ERCOFTAC (Uncertainty Quantification in Industrial Analysis and Design) SIG 45 meetings are also invited.
