2020 NPHC Survey posted Upstate Greeks

New Survey released for 2020

Greenville, South Carolina - We are have posted our annual membership survey for 2020. This survey will help us improve our Council participation and planning efforts for next year's events and schedule. 

We are hoping to compare the results of this year's survey with last year's survey to track any trends in our community toward to the council. Please help us as we determine our strategic planning for the coming year. 

After an initial effort to get data and review at our Council retreat, we have extended the survey to be available until April 15, 2020. We will continue to analyze the data at the future date with Council officers, representatives, and chapter leadership. 

This survey is for any NPHC Greek members living the Upstate area (Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg), including NPHC Representatives, local Chapter members, Charter Leadership or Inactive members. 

How to take this survey: Please copy the URL below to your browser. The survey is eight questions and should about five minutes to complete. We do ask for your suggestions for the council, at certain point in the survey. 

Thank for your feedback and we will have future surveys as an ongoing effort to collect feedback for the council as we make future plans.

2019 Holiday Mixer Scheduled for December 12th

Maudlin, South Carolina - Come and Join as we close out the year with the local Council at a local established, Truth Grill & Chill which is located in 516 N Main St, Greenville, SC (29662).

NPHC Council holds this Mixer as an annual event for Chapter members of the Council to share some Greek spirit during this Holiday season. We will have selected refreshments, drinks "Happy hour" pricing from 6:30-7:30 PM, and dinner will be available as a dutch option for those who want to stay for dinner. The mixer starts at 6:30 PM lasts until 9:30 PM.

We will be collecting can-goods 
and donations for NPHC outreach (Harvest Hope) at the door.

Greenville, South Carolina - Alpha Lambda Sigma Chapter, of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. is sponsoring their 3rd Annual Oyster Roast, Crab Boil, and Fish Fry on October 5 at 770 Pelham Rd in Greenville. Early bird tickets are $30 and General Tickets at $35. Children 7-13 are $15 and under 7 are free.

All food and drinks are FREE with ticket purchase and includes:
  • Steamed Oysters
  • Roasted Oysters
  • low country boil, Blue Crab
  • Fried Fish
  • Shrimp
  • Chicken
  • Hamburgers and hotdogs and various other foods etc.

A portion of the donations will be used to give out a $1000 scholarship to a high school senior in Greenville, SC during our Founder's day celebration in January and a portion of the proceeds will go to the March of Dimes and American Cancer society. Join us for NPHC-GG's Annual 2019 Greek Cookout

Maudlin, South Carolina - NPHC of Greater Greenville is again sponsoring the annual Greek Cookout this year and all Upstate Members of Greek Organizations and their families are invited. Attend are encouraged to wear their Greek paraphernalia

Come join other fellow Upstate Greeks on Saturday, August 17, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Conestee Park, Maudlin, SC. The park will be open at 10 AM, and members and their families can enjoy the park amenities and the reserved shelter at their leisure. However, Council Reps and cooks will not be present at the Large Shelter until 4:00 PM. Food won't be ready before 5:30 PM.

Conestee Park ( Old Greenville Braves Stadium ) 

 840 Mauldin Rd, Greenville, SC 29607

Amenities: Baseball Fields, Dog Park, Swamp Trail Access, Shelter, and Playground. 

There will be card games, music, and fellowship. The cost per person ($5) and family ($10) are used to defer the cost of the event and include card processing fees. We are also collecting can goods for the Harvest Hope Food bank.  

Parking is free

This park has free parking. Our cookout will be located in the Large Shelter and attendee should park in the large parking lot next to the shelter. The shelter is a short walk from the parking lot. 

Project Alpha Seminar empowers young males to make better choices on July 20th

Greenville, South Carolina - Alpha Phi Alpha Greenville Foundation is again sponsoring its Project Alpha Seminar on July 20th at the Kroc Center in Greenville, South Carolina. This is a free event from 10am – 2pm and includes breakfast and lunch.


Project Alpha is an educational program for adolescent males between the ages of 10-17. It is conducted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the March of Dimes. First developed in 1980, its goal is to assist young men with making responsible decisions. The program encourages participants to increase healthy lifestyle behaviors by learning about the consequences of pregnancy, anatomy and physiology of the human body, and the importance of fatherhood.


The curriculum includes important topics such as:


  • Responsibility, Respect and the Role of Males in Relationships
  • Bullying, Cyber-bullying, Sexting
  • Protecting Yourself and Your Partner
  • Gang Violence

Greenville, South Carolina - The National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC) of Greater Greenville is again promoting Greek awareness in the Upstate of South Carolina with its annual “Day of Fellowship” on Sunday, February 24, 2019.

The council is asking all NPHC Greek members to wear their fraternity or sorority lapel pins to their local Church services on February 24th, and to make an announcement in the services about the Council and its ten member chapters, which make up the council in the Upstate Area. A sample church announcement (included below), along with brochures about the Council and a recording of the NPHC Greek Medley are available to churches to use on the Upstate Council website, (

For those NPHC members looking for a church service in the area, the following churches are planning recognitions on February 24th:
  • Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Simpsonville, SC, services start at 11 AM.
  • Israel Metropolitan CME Church in Greenville, SC, services start at 11 AM.
  • Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, services start at 11 AM.
  • Rocky Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Simpsonville, SC at 10 AM.
  • Long Branch Baptist Church, Greenville, SC at 9:45 AM. 
After their services, NPHC members and their families can fellowship together at Liberty Tap Room, 941 South Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601 from 1PM to 3PM.  Greek members and their families can RSVP to the gathering at by Saturday, February 24, 2019. Seating is limited. 

Renowned Scholar speaks on Truth of Black History Month

St. Philips Episcopal Church Black History Program set for Feb. 16th

Greenville, South Carolina - Meet and hear Dr. Ted Johnson, a renowned scholar, talk about the truth of Black History Month. His work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Wall Street Journal, POLITICO, WIRED, National Review, New Republic, and other national publications. His academic lectures and media engagements include appearances at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, UCLA’s Hammer Museum, University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, and TEDx.

NPHC-GG Council Donates to Harvest Hope Food Bank

Greenville, South Carolina - Fourteen members of the Chapters representatives and officers of the NPHC Council of Greater Greenville visited the Harvest Hope Food Bank of Greenville, SC and donated more than 300 pounds of food and make a monetary donation to the food bank. 

The Council will be soliciting donations and canned food items for the food bank in our remaining events in 2018 and into 2019. 

Harvest Hope Greenville is one of many HHFB state food banks which serves and supplies efforts for seniors, disaster victims and needy families across the state. It is the largest facility in the state and serving up to1,500 families each week. 

The Council is proud to be supporting their HHFB's effort and we challenge other councils and members chapters to support them as well.
