A Suggested Tour of

U.P. Diliman campus

(I actually did this on Jan. 11, 2011 with Elizabeth Saunders.)

First stop: College of Business Administration:

Here's a shot of Elizabeth & me at the lobby of the College.

We first took the "Ikot" (shuttle) route :-) [See map above.]

First Stop:

UP Parish of the Holy Sacrifice (Catholic Church):

You'd see, via this marker, that this place is a wonderful work of art!

(several National Artists did this Church!)

Then we took the "Ikot" (=around), passing by such important buildings as:

UP Bahay ng Alumni ("Alumni House")

National College of Public Administration & Governance (NCPAG)

cutting across University Avenue :-)

Several Housing Estates/units

then back into the campus itself, seeing to our right:

National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS)

College of Science (Library & Admin Bldg)

Dept. of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

NISMED Hostel

National Science Research Institute (NSRI)

College of Education

then back to College of Business :-)

THEN WE TOOK THE "FOOT ROUTE", ALONG the ACADEMIC OVAL :-)

Malcolm Hall (College of Law)

Melchor Hall (College of Engineering)

U.P. Carrillon:

U.P. Theatre

Abelardo Hall (College of Music)

And...the lovely QUEZON HALL (Main Administrative Building) facing University Avenue!

(insert shots here of the explanation of the 'Oblation' statue,

poetry by Dr José Rizal, etc.)

LAST STOP:

The wonderful JORGE VARGAS MUSEUM!

Thanks to Elizabeth, I had the chance (first time ever!) to have a tour of the Museum!

(One of the most interesting pieces of information I got was that, among all the Museums in the Philippines, the Vargas carries the MOST number of AMORSOLOs!)

Here's a shot of us outside of Vargas:

When you come (again) to U.P., I can give you a tour! :-)
