is one of the few student-run organizations in the Biology department of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. We were founded in 2008 and strive to be a resource for students of all disciplines who are interested in exploring Biology. All are welcome!

What do we do?

BUGS contributes to various volunteer projects and outreach events. We have participated in UNM events such as Hanging of the Greens, Fall Frenzy, and most importantly Wolf Fest, a day focused on the conservation of our lovely Lobos! BUGS has also volunteered for the Rio Grande Zoo and collaborated with groups such as Defenders of Wildlife and Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary. BUGS has numerous connections with organizations around New Mexico which allows us to participate in a wide range of activities. We also have a partnership with KAPLAN test prep and are a great resource for graduate school preparation!

BUGS usually meets once a month or biweekly, but we also love to get together around town!
