SPS Meeting #2

We would like to invite SPS members to join us on Saturday, April 16th at 10:00am for the Festival of Communities.  In preparation for the event, we will have a meeting on Wednesday, April 13th at 6:00 PM in BPB 217. 

During the meeting, we will decorate the sign for our booth and discuss details regarding everyone's availability and food arrangements for our table. In addition, we will be familiarizing ourselves with the nitrogen ice cream and plum-pudding recipe, in other words, we are going to be making and testing the nitrogen ice cream!

General Meeting

Hope everyone's semester has been going well so far! SPS (Society of Physics Students) would like to invite you to attend our first general meeting of the year on Wednesday, February 16th at 5:30pm in BPB 217.   

We will be providing free food and refreshments while discussing the following:

- Introduction of the Department

- Elections and officer positions available

- Sigma Pi Sigma (Physics Honor Society)

- Website/Facebook/OrgSync

- Festival of Communities

- Workshops (Latex, GRE)


- Tutoring

- Educational Outreach

- Astronomy/ Movie Nights

Festival of Communities

Hello everyone!
Saturday, April 16, 2011 is the date for UNLV's Festival of Communities. Our organization will have a booth at the festival and we will be selling Nitrogen Ice Cream, Plum-Pudding, and a special dish for the event! If you would like to be a part of the event, come out and be a part of this exciting festival. Please reply to this email if you would like to participate in the event with us!

Festival of Communities is a celebration of the various cultural traditions that make up the UNLV community and beyond. Friends and family are invited to the free festival, which will feature:

  • International food tasting
  • Cultural displays of art, dance, and culture
  • Live music
  • Face painting
  • Balloon art
  • Henna art
  • Omni Gamers with many board games, carnival games, activities for both children and adults
  • Food taste competition
  • Food and arts and crafts sale
