We officially have a foreign exchange student. Her name is Vera and she is from Portugal! Vera will be staying with us early August for a couple of weeks, and she will be shadowing at UIC as well as other pharmacies around the area. I will be forming a welcoming committee for students that will be in Chicago during this August. The welcoming committee duties consists of:
  • Helping me put together a tiny booklet of things to do around Chicago
    • Examples: restaurants, The Bean, fun activities, bars, transportation etc.
  • I also would like Vera to have a specific contact for each day, so she can have someone to hang out with after her pharmacy experience that day. She looks like a really sweet girl and during the TBD meeting, I will show her to you all.
  • This would allow her to have your contact information so she can have someone to hangout with.
  • This is the first ever APhA foreign exchange student and I would like to make it a great experience for her, so we can continue this in the future.
If you would like to join the committee please email me at
