Recognition and Awards

On March 28th, 2011,  I was awarded the Connecting People Shorty Award.  Students from Van Meter nominated me for this award.
It was fun to watch the award being announced live from New York City.
The Connecting People Award was written about on The Shorty Award blog on March 29, 2011.
Also, the Girls Who Rock blog mentioned the Connecting People Award.

Channel 8, CBS affiliate in Des Moines did a story about the Shorty Award and how I use
social media to bring experiences, people, and resources into the students lives at Van Meter.

The article highlighted how things are changing for students such as Michael Kinley at
Van Meter and how I am helping them become "passionate participants."

Three Schools for the 21st.  This article highlighted Van Meter Community School, the Science and Leadership Academy in Philadelphia, and  the Integrated Studies Program (ISP) at Camden County Technical High School in Sicklerville, New Jersey.
