Welcome to UNC Department of Statistics and Operations Research summer "Boot Camp" course. This voluntary course is being offered for the first time in 2010. Incoming graduate students in both the Statistics and Operations Research department and the Biostatistics department will be attending. This course will serve as a refresher of basic techniques in analysis and linear algebra, and should help you quickly get settled into your first year graduate level courses.
There are two components to the course:
Analysis 9:30 - 11:30 in Hanes 130, Instructor - Dominik Reinhold
Linear Algebra 2:00 - 4:00 in Hanes 130, Instructor - Eric Lock
Students may take only one of these components if they choose, however both are very valuable and recommended. Both courses will run from Monday August 9 through Friday August 20. Note there will be no class on Thursday August 19 due to UNC Orientation.
If you have any questions about specific content, please contact the instructors Eric Lock (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Dominik Reinhold (email@example.com).
If you have general questions about the department or getting settled in Chapel Hill, please contact Rob Erhardt (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are in the STOR department, or Melissa Hobgood (email@example.com) if you are in the BIOS department.
