CPE course -- Spring 2012

The Certified Peer Educator course (HWP 372) will be offered through the Health and Wellness Promotion department. The course is on Wednesdays from 1:45pm-3:45pm. It is taught by Jay Cutspec, director of Student Health and Counseling, and Linda Pyeritz, UNCA health and wellness outreach coordinator and Peer Educator adviser. It is held in the Sherrill Center.

Course description:

Completion of this class will allow you to obtain national certification as a Certified Peer Educator and letter of reference for your resume.  

The study of peer education concepts and programs provides training suitable for any health and safety focused major. Certified Peer Educator (CPE) training develops a knowledge base and leadership skills to successfully develop and implement health and wellness related programs.    

Students will gain experience by developing and implementing programs on campus during the semester.
