The Academy of Student Pharmacists (ASP) is the student branch of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the first established and largest professional association of pharmacists in the United States. The mission of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.

APhA is the voice of the pharmacy profession. It is the only professional organization that has members in all fields of pharmacy practice. APhA represents pharmacists from diverse fields including pharmacists working in hospitals, community, industry, academia, management, clinical pharmacists specializing in pharmaceutical care, and even pharmacists that have unique careers such as nuclear pharmacists, diabetes specialists, nutrition support, oncology, and pharmacotherapy.
Along with these benefits, members of the chapter are directly involved in the legislative process that can further the career of pharmacy in the future; and APhA-ASP is the only organization that is involved with policy making.
