Welcome Week

The new academic year is just around the corner! We have some Welcome to Wesley events coming up for fun, fellowship, and getting to know each other.

Wednesday, Sept. 5, 6:30PM
The Cascades

We'll meet at the Wesley Foundation to carpool to the Cascades at Argo Park for tubing or still-water canoeing. We'll come back to the Wesley Foundation afterward for ice cream. Tubing/canoeing is $10/person (financial help is available, if needed).

Friday, Sept. 7, 2:00 - 6:00PM
FestiFall

Sign up for a shift to distribute water, Twizzlers, and information about the Wesley Foundation on the Diag. It's a great opportunity to meet lots of new people and introduce them to our community. The shifts will be 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, and 5-6. Follow the link to pick your time.

Sunday, Sept. 9, 5:00 - 7:00PM
Wesley Kick-Off Picnic & Worship

Join in the fun on the Wesley lawn for games, food, fellowship, and worship. If you're willing to help lead a group game or activity, or if you'd like to help with worship, contact Tim Kobler.

For more information on how to Get Involved, check out Wesley Activities or learn even more about Wesley at our "Hello, new people" page!

Wesley's Food Exchange will be open each Wed. from 6:30 - 9:00pm and Sunday from 5:00 - 7:00pm during the academic year for students to give or receive, as well as on an appointment basis.

Mission Statement

The Wesley Foundation at the University of Michigan is a United Methodist campus ministry providing varied opportunities and programs for all students and other campus-related persons. We are a pluralistic community academically, theologically, and by age and interest. All students from nearby universities such as University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, Concordia University, and Washtenaw Community College are welcome.

We are also a community of persons committed to caring, sharing, serving, learning, and growing with each other regardless of ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital or economic status, disability, or other human differences. Our common bond is God's love shown through Jesus Christ. Our emphases include concern for the social implications of the gospel in the world and personal growth as Christians.

Welcome to Ann Arbor!

Supporting Wesley

Thanks to the help of many people, the Wesley Foundation at the University of Michigan has survived on this campus for over 100 years! In order to keep our mission going, please consider donating to our PayPal account. If you are in the area and would rather donate your time, consider emailing Maggie Rathke about providing a Sunday meal, or Tim Kobler about anything else you may think of. We thank all those who help and those who continue to help us!

Connecting on Social Media

For general information about the Wesley Foundation, check out our Facebook page. We're also on Instagram and Twitter

Connect with Wesley on our student Facebook group! We post volunteer opportunities, thoughts and articles. It is a great way to stay connected with the group. Visit Students at Wesley Foundation on Facebook and we will add any student or local recent grad or young professional that would like to join!

Are you an alumnus or a friend of the Wesley Foundation at UM? There is a Facebook group just for you! Check out the Wesley alumni & friends on Facebook.

Immigration Activism

Wesley is looking for students interested in joining FUMC's Immigrant Hospitality Team, a group that meets to plan logistics for supporting immigrant families taking sanctuary, or living in a church building, to prevent a deportation. This team is part of the larger county-wide network Washtenaw Congregational Sanctuary. For more info contact Becky Dean at rebecca.dean11@gmail.com.
