Strummin' and Hummin'

Welcome to the the Bloomington Ukulele Club of Bloomington, Indiana!

We are a group of people who simply enjoy playing the ukulele and singing some songs.

Our club tries to meet twice a month, usually the first and third Sundays of the month (depending on room availability). Scroll below for dates.

Generally, the agenda starts with any announcements, passing out of any music (if members have brought some to share), and then we just decide what we want to play and jam. Member input as to the songs we play and sing is highly encouraged. We play a variety of songs—from basic two-chord songs to songs that may have more than five chords. We play many songs from Richard G's or other useful Web sites.  Normally, we have soprano, concert, and tenor acoustic ukuleles in our club at various times.

Check out some of our music files (link is to the left in the sidebar). If you don't know songs, you can click Video Links (also in the sidebar) to listen to the songs. If you are bringing a new song to the group (which is encouraged), please bring 12–15 copies to share.

All skill levels are welcome, but in order to get the most out of a meeting, it's best to be comfortable with an array of basic chords. Ukulele lessons are not provided at club meetings; however, there are links for Music Lessons on the left sidebar if you are looking for an instructor.

The chord sheets we provide are in GCEA tuning, so if you play a baritone/bass ukulele, you will need to be extremely familiar with your chord formations, which will be DGBE for the baritone uke and EADG for the bass uke.

Send us an e-mail at:  bloomington ukulele @ gmail .com (leave out the spaces—we are trying to foil spam robots, who do not like ukuleles).
