Dennis Doesn't!

This weekend's storm was Dennis - I don't understand why when I visit the Adriatic, you have storms and they have flat calm!

Ariane de Saint Victor, the Commodore at Imperial has sent the following report along with his thanks to all the Umpires and Helpers.

The Imperial Icicle ran this weekend despite a scary forecast! The teams went out for 20 races on Saturday morning but with the storm coming in and the wind building through the day, races were stopped for the afternoon. Everyone headed back for a rest or a visit around London before an exciting curry social.

Due to the reserve weekend being used for south central qualifiers, the event lost many of its volunteers on the Sunday as three imperial teams traveled to Oxford to brave storm Denis. Fortunately Wembley was luckier than Farmoor and was sailable: teams got racing all afternoon, finishing the round robin in some intense conditions.

Congratulations to Edinburgh Blue for winning the event, traveling this far proved to be worth it!

The final results had to be adjusted due to the absence of the three teams concerned by the reserve qualifiers on Sunday and are as follows:

1st. Edinburgh Blue, 2nd. Exeter Black 3rd. Castaways 4. Plymouth Pink 5. Bath Blue 6. White PUBES 7. Release the Kraken 8. Exeter Red 9. Exeter Yellow 10. Bath Performance Squad 11. Plymouth Red 12. Cambridge Beige 13. Bath Yellow

Hopefully all the teams enjoyed the strong wind training and had a lovely weekend in London!

BUSA will be consulting on the situation and we will update this post when we hear from them.
