Busy but Chilly

Well, it was in Oxford where the NSSA Singlehanded Team Racing was taking place in Toppers. 150 races were sailed using a Swiss League, which gave everyone ten races, though many competitors found the conditions challenging with gusts of 20kts.

This was followed by Semis which saw Derbyshire A beat Worcestershire A and Watford beat Oxford. The final saw the Derbyshire team of Emma Robertson, Kate Robertson, Carl Weighill (Photo) emerge victorious beating Watford 2:1, the same scoreline occurring in the peti-final which had Worcestershire finish third and Oxford fourth. Meanwhile, at Roadford Reservoir the Plymouth Pasty was taking place. There was some good racing on the Saturday but on Sunday the wind built and at 11am it was decided to abandon further racing. Exeter Red were declared the winners from Plymouth White with Swansea Green in third place.

Up North we had the Glasgow Grouse taking place. This was won by The Royal Northern and Clyde, Edinburgh Import were second and Team Potato third.

We are awaiting reports from the Sheffield Shuffle and the event at Reading - if anyone has any info do get in touch and we will update this report.
