The 2012 International Workshop on Ubiquitous Information Processing and Management (UIPM 2012)

The 2012 International Workshop on Ubiquitous Information Processing and Management (UIPM 2012) explores emerging interests and novel ideas in the areas of information processing and management, multimedia applications, cloud computing technologies, agent-based systems, and multimedia services in ubiquitous computing environments. The goal of UIPM 2012 is to provide a forum promoting new techniques and interdisciplinary researches. The workshop will bring together researchers and practitioners who are interested in both the technical and applied aspects of ubiquitous information processing and management. Papers related to the following (but not limited to) topics are encouraged to submit for presentation:

Presenters:

  • Time Slots for presentation: 25 mins = 20 mins Presentation + 5 mins Q&A 
  • The session room will be provided with one laptop PC (Windows Vista, PowerPoint Viewer). As there may be some incompatibility issues that may arise, the presenter is requested to bring his/her own laptop. Before you presentation, turn-on your computer and have your slides ready.
  • Aside from the regular presentations, please don’t miss to attend the exciting Keynote Talks and Panel Discussions!

Paper Submission Guideline:

Authors should submit full papers of 6 ~ 8 pages (IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced), including figures, tables, and references. Each paper will receive at least 3 peer reviews. The authors should follow the author kit to be sent by the IEEE CS for the preparation of the final manuscript. The author registration date and the final manuscript due date are strict. Please do follow the announcement on the UIC-2012 website http://conf.kyusan-u.ac.jp/uic2012/
 
Accepted papers will be published in the UIC-2012 workshop proceedings (EI-indexed), published by IEEE Computer Society Press. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper should register as a full participant of the workshop to have the paper published in the proceedings. The manuscript should be submitted to the following URL:
 

Guidelines for Camera-Ready Manuscript Preparation

  • The UIC-UIPM will not handle any submissions of the camera-ready manuscripts. The authors will need to submit their camera-ready manuscripts to the main conference (UIC) directly.
  • The page limit of UIC-UIPM 2012 is 6 pages, at most two extra pages can be purchased with the rate 100 USD per page.
  • CPS has posted the AUTHORS KIT to authors via email. You can access this author kit as follows: http://www.ieeeconfpublishing.org/cpir/AuthorKit.asp?Community=CPS&Facility=CPS_Sept&ERoom=UIC%2DATC+2012
  • The submission deadline of the final manuscript is July 13, 2012.
