Alumni Student Mentor Program

 

The Offices of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, Student Affairs, and Professional Development are offering an Alumni- Student Mentor program for the College of Pharmacy. 

 

The alumni mentor may serve as a professional contact to assist you with your pharmacy professional goals and career opportunities as well as provide professional advice and guidance.  Your alumni mentor may also serve as a great networking contact. 

 

If you are interested in participating in this program, read the expectations and requirements for being a student mentee and then go to the link below to sign up.

 

By completing and signing up for the Alumni Mentor program; you as a mentee will in good faith meet the following expectations while participating in the Student Alumni Mentor program:


Initiate contact with your mentor 2-3 times each semester.

  • Always address the mentor in a professional and respectful manner including emails, phone conversations, appointments and personal interactions.
  • Represent yourself and the College of Pharmacy in a professional manner.
  • Develop questions and engage your alumni mentor in discussions focusing on professional development and post-graduate career opportunities.Listen to and learn from the experience of your alumni mentor and remember to be open minded to advice and constructive criticism. 


Please keep in mind that the alumni mentors are volunteering their time to mentor you because they want to offer help, guidance and assistance to UIC COP students, please make the most of the experience and also be very respectful of their time.

 

We will do our best to accommodate all requests for an alumni mentor but please keep in mind that have a limited number of mentors.  If you are not selected, we will keep you posted if an alumni mentor becomes available.
