The UIC Wireless (Wi-Fi) is a free wireless network that the ACCC has installed in the public areas at UIC. Members of the UIC community may use it whenever they want, as much as they want, at no charge. It allows you to surf the Web, send email, research your thesis -- all of the online tasks -- in the library, the cafeteria, the union, on your own laptop, without being tethered to a wire.

For security purposes ACCC uses SecureW2 client software which suitable for variuos versions of Windows operating systems, such as Windows XP,Vista and 7.

Download Secure W2

The CD contains an excecutable file for Secure W2. You can install it on your computer using this file.

However, we recommend you download the latest Secure W2 on the Web using a machine in an ACCC lab or another of your own machines that already has an Internet connection; then copy it to a USB flash drive to move it to the laptop you are installing SecureW2 on.
