Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP)

The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) is a professional association of pharmacists who use the tools of managed care in the practice of pharmacy. Managed care principles are based upon the use of clinical evidence to achieve healthy outcomes while making the best use of money spent on medications and their management.

UIC hosts the largest Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Competition in the nation, giving students an opportunity to develop critical analysis, presentation and research skills. At our chapter meetings, we invite pharmacists from many fields to speak about their careers and how managed care impacts their practice.

As a pharmacist, regardless of where you choose to practice, you can benefit by understanding the concepts of managed care pharmacy!

Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI)
The Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI) builds up its members, the school and the community in faith, hope and love. At our weekly prayer meeting we pray for the needs of the school and anyone who has need. Most of our fundraising supports our Compassion child Somara, a young girl who lives in Haiti. During our weekly meetings, we study the Bible and have speakers to help us understand how the message of Christ applies to the practice of pharmacy. We approach both pharmacy and the rest of life as imperfect people who fail but have the hope of one who freely forgives us. Every few weeks, we have a praise and worship time to celebrate the aforementioned fact and thank God for the way he loves us and teaches us to love. Anyone who is interested is welcome to come.
