The University of Houston Faculty Senate invites you to attend the 14th Scholarship & Community Conference, showcasing the theme "HoustonThe Future of Energy."  This free conference will be held on Friday, April 23, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., at the Hilton University of Houston Hotel and Conference Center on the University of Houston Main Campus, and will  feature a luncheon keynote address by David Dewhurst, Lieutenant Governor of the State of Texas.
The University of Houston has identified energy as a key strategic focus for faculty research and teaching, and the energy industry plays a vital role in the continuing prosperity of the greater Houston area.  This conference will build awareness of both current and emerging energy initiatives, and it is open to anyone interested in learning more about this exciting field.
The conference will showcase top energy experts, whose presentations will address topics of broad interest, such as renewable energy sources, new directions in oil and gas exploration, and pollution-reduction projects.  Speakers will include University of Houston researchers, industry leaders, and scholars of energy policy and history.
