About us

Uganda Youth Skills Training Project was established in 2004 by Turyatunga Bob Maahe (Director) with the idea of contributing to the improvement of young people’s life through school and community based education in response to sustainable skills. This ideas was later shared with seven civil engineering students at Kampala Polytechnic Mengo in 2005 and agreed to register it as both NGO and CBO,  and we named it  Secondary School skills Training project.

Uganda Youth Skills training project is the one of the organization implementing and committed to obtaining quality education in Uganda through sustainable skills.

In 2008 the name changed to Uganda Youth Skills Training Project after realizing that there is high demand of sustainable skills and the name cut across the whole youth groups.

The organization is both registered as a Community Based Organization with registration number LUB/503 and as Non Governmental Organization under NGO board of 1989 statute with a registration number S.5914/7618.

 Uganda Youth Skills Training Project is currently employing 6 fulltime youths instructors and 4partime instructors,1 international volunteer who is at Lwamata branch, and  1 volunteer  from each of 6 schools where we have implemented our programs.

The Organization’s work solely depends on the board of directors’ contributions community support called subsidy and material support from organization partners from UK, German and Brazil .We still require a lot of support from local communities and International development partners. 

UYSTP Objectives

To equip the youth with vocational and technical skills.

To contribute towards environmental conservation and management.

To provide financial material and moral support to vulnerable youths.
