To reflect upon your current levels of academic confidence.

Use the link below to access your Self audit journal. Create a new journal entry and write four paragraphs (approx. 50 to 75 words each) using the following areas for guidance:

1. Academic Communication

How confident are you in your ability to communicate clearly in an academic style? Can you structure and present information clearly to an audience in written and oral modes?

2. Reading and Research

Do you know how and where to find material relevant to your studies? How confident are you that you could find the necessary books, journals and electronic resources relevant to your field of study?

3. Data Analysis & Synthesis

Are you familiar with quantitative and qualitative types of data collection? How do you feel about your ability to assemble, interpret and manipulate quantitative and qualitative data appropriately? Do you feel that you could confidently handle numerical data?

4. Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

How confident are you in your ability to think in a logical, purposeful, reasoned and focused way? Do you think that you could define and apply appropriate strategies for the solution of conceptual and/or practical problems.

At the end of the course return to this journal and read through your journal entry. Create a new journal entry and use this to reflect on how your confidence and skills have improved since week one.

NB: Please note that your journal is private and can only be seen by you and the academic staff teaching you. Once you prepare the journal, send it to him/her by e mail.
