Library & Information Resources

Access to libraries and information resources is an important priority of the Faculty of Midwifery.

Students and faculty have access to library resources through both the University College of the North and the University of Winnipeg. Through inter-university agreements, students also have access to library resources at the University of Manitoba.

The Faculty of Midwifery library, housed at the program hub in Winnipeg, is the largest holding of midwifery related materials in Manitoba, and includes:
  • the UCN library's midwifery-specific holdings
  • the Faculty of Midwifery's own holdings
  • journals, reports and articles related to midwifery and maternal/newborn health
  • videos and other media
  • learning toolkits
  • Manitoba midwifery archives
  • artifacts
Students may review and access these holdings by requesting items through the UCN on-line catalogue, stopping in to the resource centre in the program office, or by contacting the program Administrative Assistant. Books and other items may be shipped from the satellite library to students in placements across the province and in Saskatchewan.

Members of the public interested in accessing the Faculty's library may visit the program office - individuals who are not UCN students may only use the materials while in the library.
