GSA is accepting applications for travel grants for the 2011 spring cycle. This cycle is for travel that occurred between January 1, 2011 and April 30, 2011. Completed applications must be submitted in person to the Office of Student Life by June 10th. Please note that email submissions are no longer accepted. Upon submission to the Office of Student Life, you are responsible to notify the desk attendant to obtain a time stamp and then ask the attendant to place your application in the GSA mailbox.
We will process these applications as quickly as possible and you will receive notification concerning your award no later than June 24, 2011. All applicants must use the attached form, no prior versions of this form will be accepted. All applications must be typed. Notice that original itemized receipts must be submitted with your completed application. Incomplete applications will be immediately disqualified. GSA will not contact any applicant for additional information, therefore all required materials must be included with your submission. More information concerning eligibility and application requirements can be found on the first two pages of the attached document. Additionally, you may request an in-person review of your application for eligibility and completeness. Please contact UCMercedGSA@gmail.com to request a review. The rubric for application scoring can be found on the last page of the attached document.
Important notice: As of September 1, 2010, graduate students are eligible for an academic year maximum of $400 from GSA travel awards. This policy began with the Summer 2010 cycle. No awards prior to September 1, 2010 will be counted towards each students maximum. Please plan if you would prefer to receive the maximum amount that you are eligible for in one academic school year from GSA ($400) or if you would prefer to receive partial funding so you can re-apply for further travel grants during this school year. You can only apply for funds within 6 months of travel.
If you have any questions on preparation of your application, please contact the GSA: UCMercedGSA@gmail.com
