Tip 068: Get tougher

Let's face it.

Swimming hard hurts.
When you swim hard, fatigue sets in,
you're gasping for air, your muscles burn.

Right in that moment, you could choose to back off a little,
you won't hurt as much, no one will ever know,
you'll know
and you won't improve from that practice
as much as you might have
if you'd gotten tough and pushed yourself as hard.

Some people have higher pain tolerances than others.

Make an effort to get tougher in practice,
Make an effort to finish the last 50 of every hard practice swim as fast as you can.

When you get to a meet, you'll have additional ability from being tougher and confidence from knowing that you trained hard and finished each the last 50 of each practice swim as hard as you could.
