Happy lunar new year! It's the year of the dragon. Roar.

SALSA has exciting events planned for this quarter. Hopefully you were able to make it to our minority panel lunch talk during diversity week where Professor Huq, Oscar Alcantara (a partner at Goldberg Kohn LLP), Harpreet Chahal (an Assistant US Attorney), and Glenn Mckeown (Associate General Counsel at the University of Chicago), gave some great advice on how to find your dream legal job.

Join us this Sunday, January 29, for lunch on Devon Street. Whether you weren't able to make it to our last Devon Street outing or just need some good Indian food, take a Sunday afternoon off and spend it with SALSA.

Later this quarter, come watch the intellectually stimulating film Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle with Professor Malani.

Check out the pictures from our extremely successful movie screening of The Home and the World, with commentary from Professor Nussbaum. The Chicago Maroon wrote a great article about our event here.

People mingling before the movie.

The SALSA president, Jalpit, welcoming everybody to the screening.

We were happy to see so many people there, both from the law school and from across the Midway. A few people suggested a quarterly movie screening with commentary from a different professor each time. The board has taken that into consideration and we will discuss it at our next meeting.

Our next big event will likely be a lunch talk on sweatshops featuring Professor Henderson next quarter.
