Easter Seals of Volusia & Flager Counties has project opportunities:

Joey’s Gift respite program, for which Easter Seals are currently recruiting volunteers for the following Saturdays, September 15, October 20, November 17 and the holiday party of December 15, 2012.  Easter Seals need 10-12 volunteers for each respite date.

In conjunction with the respite, Easter Seals will also replicate a successful summer “Social Skills” camp and curriculum on three days for children ages 5-10 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  For each social skills event, we need a minimum of 6-8 volunteers who specifically desire to work with this group.  The dates and times would be from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 15, October 20 and November 17 and the events would be held at our Daytona campus.  It would be preferable to plan to work each of the three events to maximize your interaction and effectiveness with the curriculum.

Other re-occurring opportunities--Organize reverse field trips, reading groups, classroom activities for pre-K (3-5 years) and school ages (5-10 years) enrolled at Easter Seals child development center and inclusive pre-school.
