Hardware I/O

About the Group:

The Hardware I/O Group is responsible for all software components concerning hardware, including native hardware drivers, simulation hardware drivers, and virtual hardware emulation.

Acting Group Lead: angelina.antonison@uah.edu.

Prospective Members:

Are you interested in hardware level communication, digital and analog i/o, event-based signaling, or low-level programming? If you answered 'yes' to any of the above, you may be interested in the Hardware I/O group.

The simulation software acts like a giant hampster wheel just spinning round and round. The hardware interfacing acts like an electric generator attached to the hampster wheel getting power from the already moving wheel. This group is responsible for the simulation hardware driver which patches and communicates with each of the hardware i/o devices, as well as the virtual hardware interface, which acts like a proxy providing a digital emulation of the hardware to relay appropriate signals to the virtual spacecraft systems, administrative displays, and the virtual cockpit.

If you have experience, or just a passion for hardware i/o, contact the Lead to see how you can get involved.
