Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) Friday 13th December 2019

Extraordinary General Meeting
As a consequence of there not being a quorum present at the Annual General Meeting in June, the Committee hereby gives notice that an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) will be held just prior to the monthly lecture on Friday 13th December 2019 commencing at 1.30pm in the United Reformed Church Hall, Waterloo Street, Weston-super-Mare.

This is an extremely important meeting and the Committee encourages as many members as possible to attend. Weston U3A Constitution currently requires 10% of its registered members to be present in order to form a quorum.

This requirement means that a minimum of 125 members need to attend. If this attendance is not achieved, the Committee will have no option but to call for a second EGM to be held on Friday 10th January 2020 commencing at 1.30pm at the same venue.

1. Minutes of the AGM held on June 8th 2018
2. Chairman’s Report
3. Financial Reports: Main Account and Social Account
4. Re-election of John Haynes and Val Perrin
5. Election of Bill Stagg and Chris Mingo-West
6. Resolution to amend the Constitution

The Committee has introduced a Resolution to amend the Constitution to read as follows:
ii There shall be a quorum when at least 5% of the number of members of the U3A is present at any General Meeting.
