  • Joined a startup and developed a mobile application analysis toolkit (umeng.com), which has been deployed in over 500 apps and reach over 10M users

Bing Team @ Microsoft (Redmond), 2009

  • Implemented search-within-history feature; practiced few query tagging and clustering algorithms

National Center for Supercomputing Application (NCSA), 2008

  • Mined TB of online gaming data, provided insights to the game designer to improve game quality and user experience

Map Team @ Google (Beijing, China), 2006

  • Extract POI from Internet, enrich map data repository

Research Interests

Parallel Implementations of PLSA on GPU Using NVidia CUDA programming framework

  • 33x speedup with NVidia GTX480 compared with traditional PLSA implementation running on 3.0GHz Intel Xeon CPU (i.e., 10h -> 15min)
  • Highly exceed state-of-the-art PLSA speedup method which is CPU-based

Mobile Application Statistics

  • We made the mobile app analysis toolkit(umeng.com) which collects information including how much time a user spend on an app each day, user stickness, app publish channel distribution, geographical distribution, mobile device model (and OS) distribution, etc. 
  • Supports varies phone OS platform (Android, iPhone, Symbian, Windows Mobile)
