NIH: SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IN BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH (SIP): https://www.training.nih.gov/programs/sip

  • U.S. citizenship, GPA: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, High School students: At least 16 years of age and a current sophomore, junior or senior
Summer internship applications are accepted: 10/18/2016 - 03/01/2017. Students may apply to as many as 15 postings by prospective mentors, so it is a good idea to enter a profile as early as possible.  Once a recommendation has been uploaded to the system by one of the student’s references, then the applicant's profile is complete and they may advance to the application stage.  Mentors continue to submit opportunities throughout the open window period, so it doesn’t hurt to hold a few of your 15 slots for later postings that may be of interest. Mentors make the selections and may contact applicants for interviews.
Please see opportunities-for-high-school-students for more.
