The emphasis of my research is to make robots "more autonomous".

I am currently Associate Professor at UTS and Researh Director at the Robotics Institute after holding the UTS Chancellor's research fellowship from 2014 to 2018. From 2009 to 2011 I was a research fellow at ACFR of University of Sydney. Previously I hold a postodoc at LAAS-CNRS working with Simon Lacroix. I finished my PhD in July 2007 at the Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial (IRI) CSIC-UPC. My PhD Programme is called Control, Vision and Robotics imparted by ESAII- UPC. Some time ago, I received my first degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNAM and my Master in Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics) from Cinvestav. I have visited the Active Vision Lab of the Robotics Research Group of the University of Oxford and ACFR during my PhD studies.
