Our mission is to provide all community members with the opportunity for lifelong learning by promoting literacy, providing access to information and offering programs for enrichment.


Book Club

  • May Book (skip April) Hi all, Our next book club meeting is on Monday, May 2, at 7:30pm. We'll be discussing Cleopatra : A Life by Stacy Schiff.  Dana will bring book suggestions and a snack. June's book is The Best American Essays 2014 edited by John Jeremiah Sullivan.  This book compiles the best literary essays of the year 2013 which were originally published in American periodicals. From Kirkus Reviews, "The current iteration in the venerable franchise, edited this year by essayist Sullivan (Pulphead, 2011, etc.), who contributes a thoughtful introduction on the art of the essay since it was defined by Montaigne.     Soup Luck & Bread Bake-Off & Poetry! Sunday, April 10, 4:30pm - 6:30pm:  In celebration of National Library Week and National Poetry Month, TVCL invites you to a soup and bread pot luck.  We'll have an open mic session for you to share a poem or song you love or a poem song of your own creation.  It's your chance to share and shine!

    The String Man is back! (tentatively)  Friday, April 15:  Keep an eye out for more details of this amazing storyteller who uses the age-old art of string figures to illustrate his stories.  We hope to schedule him for a full school day and evening performance at the library.

    There will be no Story Hour on Tuesday, April 5: We'll resume on Tuesday, April 12, 11am-noon!
