From the Band Staff
We are very excited to welcome so many new students and parents into the Golden Sound Family! We sent a brief email update on July 31st to all parents and students regarding the upcoming start of Band Camp 2020.  

Please see below for important forms including the COVID-19 participation waiver and medical form that must be completed in order for students to attend band camp.


2020 Marching Band Tentative Fall Dates:
The updated tentative marching band calendar is available below.

Required supplies for every marching band rehearsal including band camp:
COVID-19 Form on File, Medical Form on File, 1 Gallon insulated water jug, several masks for the week, hand sanitizer, sun screen, shorts, light colored t-shirts, socks/tennis shoes (must lace up, no high tops,) hat, sunglasses, instrument, reeds, oil, pencils, flip folders, lyres, one inch three ring binder, 50 plastic sheet protectors, a sling bag, and a wash cloth.

Attention New Brass and Woodwind Members!!
In a normal year, we would have had two nights in May to provide some introductory materials and instruction. We also would have had a chance to hear you play. Since this year is different, we would like to hear all new members play the a bit during the first week of school:

Please be prepared to play:

Bb concert scale in long tones using your best tone quality. 

The Star Spangled Banner Music for your instrument which is available below when you scroll to the bottom of the page.You may play as much of the piece as you are comfortable with.  (Don't forget to check the key signature, time signature and printed accidentals.)  Please contact Ms. Smith at sksmith@tvsd.us with questions.

If you are a student who uses a school owned instrument, don't panic!  We'll get you set us with an instrument as soon as possible! We will extend the deadline if needed!



5th Grade Registration for 6th Grade Band
Hello!  Thank you for your interest in the band program at the middle school level. Please click the link below to go to the google form for registration that will provide more information.  Below that is a great video that talks a bit about Sixth Grade Band and features many of our band students demonstrating instruments.





Important Reminders:


Required supplies for every concert season rehearsal:

Each student must have their instrument, concert music, a pencil, required accessories (mouthpiece, reeds, oil, slide grease, etc.) every day for class.  During concert season, each student has rehearsal 5th OR 6th period, with lunch and a study hall the opposite period.
