 1.30f      03 Feb 06             Sculpted Tortoises             Celestial sphere, a sculpture by artist Paul Manship at the UN headquarters in Geneva. The sphere is supported by four tortoises that are difficult to discern on the stamp because the image is a hologram and therefore not sharp. Stamp inscribed "Salutations des Nations Unies". UN symbol in upper left corner. Pictures of the sphere from other sources (e.g. - www.celestialsphere.ch) clearly show that the small figures are tortoises.
