To my mother’s delight, I made hand-made cards for family and friends as a child. (She always thought I was a genius, and encouraged me to be a “pro”). I studied art and photography, and I started to make cards for my friends, then my co-workers, then for anyone who would accept them - which led to forming this company, Tumble Dry Low cards.
Many people ask, “where’d you get that crazy name for the cards?!” To put it simply, when I began to think about this as a business, I was doing laundry in the basement. For some reason, while sorting, it just sounded “right”!
I live in Michigan with my husband Doug, who is also an artist. He taught art at a local college and was an exhibiting artist for years. Much of his creativity has turned to cooking. Now I’m the one spending hours in the studio. Completing our family are two parrots and a couple of Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
Many thanks to Ken VanWagoner and The Good Beans Cafe in historic Carriage Town in Flint, Michigan for years of support, friendship (and retail space!)
