This activity will show students what life at court was like. Costumes and roles for the court of Henry VIII or the court of Elizabeth 1 are available. Life at Court can be contrasted with the life of the nobility outside court, and with the life of people at other layers of Tudor society, merchants, craftsmen and farm labourers. The duties of courtiers are covered together with the benefits of being a courtier. Optionally, the risks of life at court can be covered.
Specific areas that can be covered are Tudor court fashions, food and dining at court, pastimes at court, moving the court, and the Tudor palace buildings.
